The 2007 China International Footwear Exhibition, one of the largest footwear exhibition in China, was held in Shanghai in from September 5th to 7th.

Guangdong, as the leading domestic shoe industry, has participated in a large number of shoemaking areas, including Guangdong and Huidong.

At the meeting, the reporter learned that the annual output of shoe making shoes in Guangdong is nearly 4 billion pairs, and the annual export volume is nearly 3 billion pairs, which firmly occupy half of the export of Chinese footwear products.

Guangdong Leather Association official told reporters that under the EU anti-dumping stick, the footwear industry in Guangdong will remodel its image by participating in the exhibition and pay attention to brand development.

It is understood that the current China International Footwear Exhibition line-up is at its peak, such as Guangdong Huidong, Zhejiang Wenzhou, Chengdu Hou Hou, Chongqing Bishan and Jiangsu Jiangdu and other shoe production characteristics of the production area are group debut, Wenzhou, Chengdu and fashion fashion women shoes become the highlight of the exhibition.

According to the analysis of the industry, exhibition is becoming an important battlefield for China's footwear industry. The grand occasion of the China International Footwear Exhibition has sent a positive signal to the footwear industry.

At the exhibition, the reporter noted that the dilemma of China's footwear industry triggered by trade friction has become a hot topic for delegates and guests.

Reporters learned that China's footwear industry produces about 10000000000 pairs of shoes each year, and exports 7 billion 800 million pairs in 2006, becoming the largest footwear production and export country in the world.

In the first half of 2007, China exported 4 billion 400 million pairs of shoes, amounting to US $12 billion, representing an increase of 12.3% and 17.2% respectively over the same period last year.

Despite the huge output, the shoe industry in China is suffering from low grade and low price, and is facing a crossroads of pformation.

According to statistics, the export of Chinese shoes in 2006 amounted to $21 billion 800 million, with an average price of only $2.8.

In the first half of this year, the average unit price of Chinese shoes exports even dropped slightly.

The exhibitors in Guangdong generally said that the disadvantages of export processing mode relying on international brands for "OEM" have been obvious, and the pattern of low price competition has made enterprises worse.

The future "shuffle" is inevitable. The shoemaking industry is facing tremendous pressure to re open the market and pform its business mode.

Experts believe that the footwear industry has sprung up a large number of enterprises with economies of scale and foundation.

These enterprises should build their own brands, build their own sales channels, invest funds in independent innovation, improve the added value and competitiveness of products, and take the road of brand development.
