Layoffs

What is the impact of the financial crisis on the employment of our city?

Yesterday, reporters from the city labor and Social Security Bureau and Tongji University completed a research report learned that the impact of the financial crisis on the decline in the total employment of our labor force is not obvious, on the contrary, in the background of layoffs in other places, Wenzhou private enterprises have received the "bottom up" recruitment skilled workers, to supplement the high skilled labor force for the new round of development opportunities.

In order to understand the employment situation of the city's labor force, the municipal labor and Social Security Bureau and Tongji University have released thousands of questionnaires from the end of last year to the beginning of this year, and held an enterprise forum to investigate the demand for labor in all walks of life in our city. Finally, a report on the impact of the financial crisis on the employment of Wenzhou's labor force and its countermeasures was finally formed.

By analyzing the macroeconomic data and labor employment data of our city, the research group believes that the impact of the financial crisis on the total employment of the city's labor force is declining, but the effect is not obvious.

Especially from the supply and demand situation of labor market, the decline of labor demand only alleviates the relative shortage of labor force in the past, and there is no relative surplus of labor supply.

The investigation team also found that more than half of the enterprises believe that the financial crisis has little impact on them. 2.2% of the enterprises believe that they are not affected by the financial crisis at all. Nearly half of the enterprises choose the "investment plan unchanged" under the financial crisis, and 14.7% of the enterprises choose to increase investment.

This shows a sharp contrast with the relevant surveys conducted by the PRD enterprises.

Some enterprises not only regard the financial crisis as a crisis, but rather regard it as an "opportunity".

At the business forum held by the investigation group, the people's group of our city indicated that they had proposed a larger scale development plan than in 2008.

Zhejiang exhibition Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. has made great achievements in a human resource recruitment conference.

A person in charge of the company said that due to the lack of skilled workers in printed circuit boards in our city, they had to go to Shenzhen to recruit people in recent years.

However, the situation has changed this year, because many of Guangdong's Hong Kong and Taiwan funded enterprises have closed down, and many skilled workers have gone to Wenzhou to increase skilled workers.

The company recruited more than 60 technicians at once.

The investigation team believes that in the short term, the international financial crisis has slowed down the economic growth rate of Wenzhou, thereby reducing the total demand for labor employment. But in the long run, the financial crisis has also promoted the adjustment of Wenzhou's industrial structure. It has played an objective role in eliminating the competitors of these enterprises for Wenzhou's competitive enterprises. From this perspective, the financial crisis has not only reduced the employment of these enterprises, but has increased.
