Everything flourishes since the beginning of summer. In the vast cotton fields of the Corps, small but tough cotton seedlings have broken through the ground to meet the sun and rain. What can cotton do in Tumushuke, an important production base of high-quality commodity cotton in southern Xinjiang?

After seed removal in the rolling process, lint becomes an important raw material for spinning and weaving. In recent years, the average annual cotton planting area of the Third Division is about 1 million mu, and high-quality and rich cotton resources have attracted a number of spinning enterprises to invest and build factories in Tumushuke City of the Third Division. Zhang Zhanhui, the director of the spinning mill, said that most of the cotton used in the production of the enterprise is from the Third Division. The cotton is of good quality, and the spun yarn is uniform in size and strong, which is very popular in the market.

The yarn spun locally is also "digested" by local weaving enterprises. This enterprise specialized in producing corduroy fabrics, signed a contract with the Third Division Tumushuke City in March 2022 through investment promotion, realized production in June that year, and now can produce more than 900000 meters of corduroy fabrics of various specifications every month. Wu Yihong, assistant general manager of the enterprise, said that at present, the yarn used in the production of the enterprise is purchased from the local spinning mill in Tumushuke, the Third Division, which not only has good yarn quality, but also saves transportation costs.

Xinjiang Chenguang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise focusing on the deep processing of cottonseed. It purchases and processes 700000 tons of cottonseed annually, mainly engaged in processing dephenolized cottonseed protein, edible vegetable oil, cottonseed meal, etc., with an annual output value of 4 billion yuan.

After decades of development, BINGTUAN agriculture has realized the transformation from traditional planting mode to mechanized, information-based and precision modern agriculture. Up to now, the comprehensive mechanization level of the cotton industry of the Corps has reached 98.6%. In 2022, the cotton yield per unit area will reach 168.8 kg, a new high in nearly 10 years. Only in Tumushuke, the third division, there are 16 textile enterprises, realizing an annual output value of 5 billion yuan. From a piece of cotton to a piece of yarn to a piece of cloth, the Corps has formed a complete industrial chain from raw cotton to ready to wear. Small cotton has become a major industry that concerns people's livelihood and promotes high-quality economic development.
